Skill-Based Passing in Madden NFL 23

This new feature is meant to give players more control over passes. The feature has two mechanics. We have a new passing meter that defines the power and direction of the pass. We also have a new control for precision. Thanks to this new feature, players can lead the receivers over and put the ball in a place where only they can reach it. Players can achieve back-shoulder throws and put the ball in an optimal spot along a corner route. This new feature redefines the offensive play. It’s very easy and intuitive to use skill-based passing. You will throw the ball by pressing any receiver icon. After that, you direct the pass and lead the receiver with the left stick. It’s very important to pay attention to visual feedback. This is how you get full control and build the skill. When the ball goes towards a receiver, they will have a target zone under them. This shows two things: where the pass goes with the left stick and the zone where a catch will surely happen. This target zone has a reticle in it. You can use the left stick to move the reticle. The default option will make the reticle go to the side of the target zone in the direction of the left stick. Free-form passing is an advanced feature that provides additional control. You can use it to pinpoint the throw within and outside the target zone. To use this option, you will hold LT or L2 and direct it down and away from the receiver. New animations were added to match the moves quarterbacks do in real life. You can also use free-form to aim outside the target zone and down the field and the receiver will run under it. Skill-based passing doesn’t have a low-ball pass. You can lower the direction if you hold LT or L2 and move the left stick.
